ABSTRACT
There lived in a village called Jungsun a yangban. He was virtuous and deeply loved learning. Everytime a new magistrate came to take office in the village, the yangban personally called on him to pay his respects. But he was very poor and for several years lived on what the government lent out, at the end of which he found himself in debt by about a thousand sacks of rice.
