Introduction

Bullying in schools is an international problem; so a book with a cross-national perspective, as this one has, should be useful to educationists, practitioners and researchers across the globe. We feel the time is ripe for such a book, since the research of the last 25 years has revealed much about the nature and extent of the problem, and has begun to show us ways towards if not its solution, at least its amelioration.
