ABSTRACT
As we near the end of this journey we return to the Introduction’s image of a threshold. Here we round off some themes and raise some ideas for the future. During this writing project we have shared hopes and concerns, some different preoccupations evoked by our own interests and the fact that we bring our experiences as a woman and a man working in different ways in this female-dominated profession. We include some pictorial images and reflections on music to accompany these notes. There are also some final thoughts from our colleagues. We have attempted to cover a range of material in this handbook in as comprehensive a way as possible. We appreciate the ambitiousness of this task and that obvious omissions have occurred but hope that in these closing pages there may be some challenges to offer both ourselves and other colleagues in the coming years.
