ABSTRACT

Biblical Antiquities (.Bib. Ant.) is a rewritten Bible, a work that expands the biblical narrative by adding various details such as oral legends, lessons important to the community, or items to catch the reader's attention. Some scholars think rewritten Bibles were used in synagogues for teaching purposes. Bib. Ant. recounts the biblical narrative from the time of Adam to the death of Saul. It expands the character and role of several biblical women, including Hannah. 1
