ABSTRACT

Any endeavour involving discussions on the lives of human beings cannot be bereft of a commentary on the manner in which they think, feel and behave. The study of psychology is integral to understanding motivation, endeavour and achievement. Furthermore, creative expressions and achievements in the field of science and technology have gained monumental importance and relevance in modern societies and have become national yardsticks for development, economy and power. This ever-growing emphasis on the paradigms, processes, products and progress of research and practice in scientific creativity calls for better understanding of psychological aspects of scientific creativity. In this chapter, an attempt has been made to link psychological science to the manifestation and growth of creativity in science. It is hoped that this linking will lead to enriching educators, parents and society in general towards creating a better learning environment for young creative students of science, keeping in mind their psychological strengths and vulnerabilities.
