ABSTRACT

This book brings together writings on Mexican American children and family life that highlight existing knowledge, recent advances, and emerging themes. Compilation of the scholarship in this volume was guided by three major goals: (1) to focus specifically on information pertaining to Mexican American children and families, (2) to include a multidisciplinary perspective in the information presented, and (3) to adopt a strength-based perspective in reviewing information about Mexican American children and families. In so doing, the information collected offers a glimpse into the diversity and complexity of issues examined by researchers, and outlines recommendations for policy makers and practitioners working with Mexican American children and families.
