ABSTRACT

United by a common vision of increasing the number of teachers of color in the United States, the Woodrow Wilson-Rockefeller Brothers Fund for Aspiring Teachers of Color program (WW-RBF) and the Newcomer Extended Teacher Education Program (NETEP) have worked in different ways. In 1992, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund (RBF) created a fellowship for aspiring teachers of color. The fellowship, transferred to the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation (WWNFF) in 2009, has supported 450 fellows as of 2012. Pamela became involved in schools through a National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) research project in which she ran focus groups with students in a middle school.
