ABSTRACT

Clinical applications in HRQOL assessment of children and adolescents are important topics that have been neglected in current research and writing. Conference participants clearly recognized the need for additional data to support clinical applications of measures of HRQOL for children and adolescents (see following chapter on recommendations for research). At the same time, many participants felt that the field would be served by articulating the opportunities for greater application of HRQOL assessments in clinical and policy-related contexts. The purpose of this chapter is to summarize directions for clinical applications of HRQOL assessment and describe strategies to facilitate them.
