ABSTRACT
The introduction to this book addressed the issue of defining the term ‘supervision’. It is widely used and conceived. Even within the confines of the mental health professions, a range of approaches is adopted. For example, some of the research aimed at establishing the active ingredients of particular approaches to therapy has encouraged supervisors to prioritise therapist compliance with standardised procedures.
