ABSTRACT
Historically, the most common way of conducting supervision of clinical practice was for the supervisee and supervisor to meet together to discuss the work in prospect or to review work carried out. Although the technologies for making recordings are widely available, verbal recounting continues to be a popular supervision format, despite supervisors rating its effectiveness low (McCarthy et al., 1994; Wetchler et al., 1989).
