ABSTRACT

The Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, founded in 1888, is the largest private university in the country, with a total enrollment of 10,709 students. The university has developed, through the General Office of Students’ Affairs, a comprehensive policy of integral student development. One of the top priorities of the university administration during the last few years has been the organization of a modern Student Health Service (SHS) which promotes the delivery of a wide variety of free professional services to students. The Student Health Service’s role and mission has been defined as the promotion and maintenance of the health and well being of the university community.
