ABSTRACT

The object of my study is the experimental analysis of cognitive performances of human beings. During the past 20 years many experiments were done by us in perception, concept formation, problem solving, and analogical reasoning. Nowadays we are also in search of psychophysiological indicators for cognitive mechanisms. But from time to time, looking for the procedures of human intelligence in problem-solving techniques, the question came into my mind, for what reasons are all these capabilities installed in human beings? What is the genuine function of human intelligence? What are the reasons that we have capabilities like problem-solving performances? For what reasons did performances like analogous reasoning as a specific kind of heuristic thinking come into being? All these aspects have mainly to do with the question for the origin of human intelligence. Assuming that this aspect and its handling might be appropriate for the problems of heuristics, I now turn to my view on the evolution of cognitive processes and performances.
