Catastrophic Reactions

Disruptive and unexpected behavior outbursts in dementia patients are perplexing and frightening. These outbursts may be extreme with physical violence, or they may be less severe, characterized by irritability and crying. Family, dementia patients and caregivers are all victims of what is known as “catastrophic reaction.”
