ABSTRACT

Proulx and Campbell use the case of a 78 year old paranoid male to illustrate behavioral management of an outpatient. The key tactic here was to use the caregiver wife as the behavioral observer. It was she who had to be trained how to chart baselines and relate them to antecedents and consequences. i^ater she was instructed in how to reinforce her husband’s appropriate behaviors. The results were significant drops in confused and paranoid behaviors.
