ABSTRACT

Verbalizing the transitional moods and feelings that overcome the mind, heart, and body when a loss is experienced sometimes defines their best attempts to explain what has occurred. He has experienced loss on numerous occasions during his life. The Apostle Paul said: His message is not in persuasive words of wisdom, but rather in the demonstration of God's power In the spirit of these words, his feel able to share my own experiences of loss. He was widowed at the age of thirty-one. Despite anxious moments of feeling incapable of living through the loss, the bereavement and the grief, he did survive. He survived because his loved Ralph and could do no other than be a companion for him as he journeyed toward death and the eternity they believed in. Many memories of that journey will always remain with him. Because of its very nature, an extended illness inevitably translates into diminished opportunities for social contact and meaningful personal interaction.
