ABSTRACT

This chapter intends as a general overview of basic business and human resource management principles and techniques. It requires an individual with good communication skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision in a team-oriented work environment. A job description should include the following: job title, name/title of supervisor, principal duties and responsibilities, minor duties, physical requirements, productivity expectations, wages and benefits, work hours and vacation time, work environment, safety responsibilities, job hazards and job qualifications. Successful performance evaluation can only be conducted in an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust. It is very important not to create a stressful environment where the employee feels that they are subject to criticism and reduced job security. The logical extension of successful performance evaluation is the provision of recognition to good employees. There are many excellent publications that deal in detail with financial management, human resource management, and customer/client service.
