ABSTRACT

Sadly, it seems, most students of political theory do not extend their enquiry to environmental sustainability politics. Equally sadly, most students of environmental science are not fully aware of how politics works, how institutions play their evolving part in holding societies together, how political power works, how coalitions of interests form and dissolve, and why the rule of law is both observed and ignored. In short, the strengths of political enquiry and the intrigues of the sustainability transition are not fully connected.
