ABSTRACT
This chapter covers an assortment of widely used ‘wet-chemical’ analytical methods that target a single analyte or a specific group of analytes. Though lacking the multi-element capability and speed of ICP–AES, they entail relatively low capital outlay and can in some cases offer detection limits that are significantly lower, or can tackle analytes (e.g. anions) not attainable by ICP–AES. The chapter concludes with one or two miscellaneous analytical techniques not covered elsewhere.
