ABSTRACT

This chapter is concerned with a key factor of development projects – money and its management. Resources such as people and equipment are essential requirements for the achievement of project objectives, but they can be deployed within the project only provided finance enables their availability. A major task for managers is therefore the management of this crucial resource that fuels the project organization. It can reasonably be argued that ultimate responsibility for managing the project finances is one of the key factors defining the role of the project manager.
