ABSTRACT

One of the central contributions of Professor Frederic Lee, certainly one with which his name will always be associated, concerns the development of heterodox economics. The term ‘heterodox’ economics indicates already a critical attitude towards ‘orthodox’ economics, most commonly designated as ‘mainstream’ economics. In this sense, we find sometimes the tendency, especially within mainstream economics, for taking heterodox economics to be essentially a criticism of mainstream economics.
