ABSTRACT
Humankind is a languaging species. Human beings share a capacity for language that is unique among living creatures. This capacity enables human beings to develop a complex system of arbitrary signs, and to use this system for transferring experiences and insights to other humans across great distances in time and space. Language thus enables human beings to create meaning, situated as well as generalized, and to change the world through communication with others by means of language, through languaging.
