ABSTRACT

The Green Economy aims primarily to balance economic growth with the reduction of social inequities, while not exceeding the earth’s life support system (UNEP 2011; Griggs et al. 2013) (Chapter 1). As a major focal point of the 2012 Rio+20 Conference and the subsequent post-2015 development agenda, the Green Economy will have its most significant impact to the extent that it shapes the ideas stakeholders use to implement biodiversity governance strategies.
