ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book provides a commentary on lessons learned after several years’s work with educators and institutions in Budapest and Prague. It also provides useful guidelines for the selection and preparation of faculty to teach abroad and suggestions for outcomes evaluation. The book reviews and comments on the conversion from socialism to capitalism in Estonia at the Tartu University School of Business and Economics. It presents a compelling picture of higher education in this Baltic nation. The book explores business education in Hungary and the surrounding region as an industry and studies its structure, conduct/behavior, and performance. It focuses on the experiences of the Australian Program for Training Eastern Europe in its efforts to teach organizational behavior to a group of Eastern European managers.
