ABSTRACT

This paper focuses on business education and management training in the old and new East Central Europe-that is, in a historical perspective. Emphasis is given to social and cultural settings in which such learning and teaching take place. The paper investigates the structure, the conduct, and the performance of the business education ‘industry’ in the region. We conclude the essay with a series of specific recommendations.
