An Integrated Planning Process for Library Skills: Paper-Based and Computer-Based Instruction

Among new curricular requirements for general education were two elements: computer literacy, and a course called, “The University and Its Libraries.” The primary goal of this course was student orientation and retention. The Libraries engaged in an integrated planning process to reach the overall goals of the course while meeting instructional objectives for library skills and support176ing computer literacy requirements by offering both paper-based and computer-based instructional modes.
