Making Communication: A Theoretical Framework for Educating End-Users of Online Bibliographic Information Retrieval Systems

In recognition of the increasing availability of remote database searching, the authors propose an instructional framework for making information retrieval conceptually accessible to end-users. This framework was developed from evidence of information seeking patterns by both experienced and inexperienced researchers. The natural patterns of research must be combined with the conceptual understanding of research as the basis for end-user instruction.
