ABSTRACT
The human brain is composed of billions of neurons. In this chapter we will examine the properties of the neuron, how neurons interact and how they are organized into subdivisions within the brain. Such information is essential as a framework that can be applied to further considerations of the brain processes involved in the more complicated behaviors of concern to educators.
