ABSTRACT
This paper provides a starting point for those who are planning to implement shared research databases in a consortium environment. For those who are well into the process, it provides a stopping-off place, a review tool for the next planning meeting or consortium retreat. The paper presents a checklist of planning concerns and accompanying discussion and illustration of the issues.
