ABSTRACT
Librarians attempt to solve a variety of problems each day in the face of an increasingly complex workplace. The impetus for this work was to create a sourcebook for some of the key issues librarians must address. Questions posted to listservs often include the type of question this compendium will answer, such as "Has anyone ever dealt with —?" A review of the topics covered here should indicate that the blank can be filled with one of a dozen different possible subjects. The issues covered in this compilation will provide librarians with a very practical guide for coping with rapidly changing technology and increasing demands for services.
