ABSTRACT

Ariel is a software product, developed and distributed by the Research Libraries Group, Mountain View, CA (www.rlg.org), and designed to manage the scanning, transmission, and receipt of documents over the internet between libraries and document suppliers. Though Ariel has enjoyed a rapidly increasing user base since its introduction in 1994, this is the first published compilation of articles ever assembled which is dedicated to Ariel and to the experiences of libraries using it.
