ABSTRACT

Fiedler Engineering Library at Kansas State University opened in October 2000. A generous donation enabled the design of a new branch library focusing on electronic delivery of scholarly information to in-house and remote patrons. Selected print reference and serial resources are housed in the library, but most research information is accessed via 24 computer workstations. The positive synergistic results of a new physical library providing electronic information yield a win-win situation in which library personnel have greater opportunity for direct contact with students, faculty, and other patrons. An electronic information literacy component is being built into the engineering curriculum through cooperative efforts with engineering faculty.
