ABSTRACT

The NASIG conference this year has been filled with a lot of good conversation on issues specifically related to e-journal management. The purpose of this concurrent session is to share and address the issues about choosing an e-journal management system. The second and third questions follow the first with discussion about librarians' perspectives on outsourcing and the vendor's response. In e-journal management this means tracking links, resolving links, and providing statistical information necessary for justifying the money spent on e-journals, all in a customized environment. The conclusions of conversations between vendor and librarian are what develop products. The NASIG conference this year has been filled with a lot of good conversation on issues specifically related to e-journal management. The world has changed dramatically in terms of scholarly communication and it’s going a lot faster than many of us in this room.
