ABSTRACT

Educational opportunities in Central and Eastern Europe have changed dramatically over the twelve-year period. Central and Eastern European educators also contributed greatly to the development and implementation of better and more relevant approaches to teaching in many of the business disciplines. A large number of review manuscripts came from Central and Eastern Europe. The overall perspective that emerged from this experience suggests that there are four areas that are extremely important to teaching of the business concepts in Central and Eastern Europe. They are: the general notion of economics and its use in business, specifically in management, the use of decision-making tools and cases in communicating importance of business concepts and their use, the importance of learning about learning in Central and Eastern Europe, and graduate education in general, especially MBA education. The typical reason for rejection was a lack of methodology, the lack of a concept, or a lack of relevancy to teaching of business concepts.
