ABSTRACT

When the University of Alabama Libraries brought federal government documents into the age of technology, it did more than provide electronic access to these materials. The Government Documents Unit and the Catalog Department developed a relationship that was nonexistent before. Through the cooperation and communication between technical and public services, departments and individuals found their traditional roles changing.
