ABSTRACT
This chapter is written from the standpoint of a senior manager in a higher education institution sensitive to rising expectations of managerial and organizational performance and seeking a well-grounded conceptual framework which will facilitate reflective practice, provide a basis for action and hopefully lead to improved performance. There is no time like the present for testing management theory in action, for taking our own medicine or for practising what we preach in our own parish.
