ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we detail the efforts of Portland, Oregon, to better serve an increasingly older population and to better utilize the skills, talents, and resources of older adults. We describe the Age-Friendly Portland initiative, including the context, conditions preceding the effort, previous relevant work, structure of the initiative, actions taken to date and planned, and accomplishments and outcomes. We conclude with a discussion of constraints and implications.
