ABSTRACT
While population aging has been on the global policy agenda for at least a decade, the aging of the population is only now becoming a policy issue in Ireland due to its differing demographic profile. In Ireland, the Ageing Well Network, a small nongovernmental organization established and supported by the philanthropic organization Atlantic Philanthropies, developed a national program of Age-Friendly Counties linked to the WHO Global Age-Friendly Cities program.
