He was elected to membership of the Social Science Research Council (later the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia) in 1964. In 1976 he received the Alpha Kappa Psi Foundation A ward for distinguished service and accomplishment in accounting. the only non-U.S. recipient of the Award in its 25-year history up to that time. In 1978, he was named an Officer of the Order of Australia for services to commerce and education, particularly in accounting and business management. In 1980, the Accademia Italiana di Economia Aziendale (founded in 1813) invited him to be a member with the title Accademico Ordinario (Full Academician). His biographical profile has appeared in Who 5 Who in A ustralia since the mid-'fifties and in at least four other such publications overseas.
