ABSTRACT
SUMMARY. Two years ago, subscription information for serials in all formats at Montana State University (MSU) was located in various paper files, stored on a variety of PCs, or nonexistent. One system was desperately needed to track all subscriptions. Subscription management systems and the acquisitions modules of Integrated Library Systems were lacking and not flexible enough to include many of the new bundling and pricing models of serials. Librarians at MSU assembled a simple and easy to use serials tracking method for back-end management. This article describes how MSU uses Microsoft Excel to manage all of their serial subscriptions.
