ABSTRACT

SUMMARY. Keeping track of electronic resources is challenging. Libraries have adopted a variety of in-house approaches to keep track of electronic resources. Penn State Libraries' ERLIC (Electronic Resource Licensing Center) database is one such example of an in-house electronic resource management system. ERLIC (a Microsoft Access database) was originally designed to improve management of electronic resource licensing data and to generate Penn State's A-Z list. However, library vendors are now answering the call for solutions that may better integrate the management of electronic resources within the framework of evolving standards and library management system development.
