ABSTRACT

SUMMARY. Over the past five years the Wayne State University Library System has become a national leader in the transition from print to electronic, with nearly 60% of the $7 million annual materials budget going to pay for electronic resources. Learning how to manage these resources has been an evolutionary process. This article discusses the WSULS experience with regards to: (1) the transition from print to electronic, (2) the current state of e-resources management, and (3) future directions in utilizing staff' and technology to address e-resource issues.
