ABSTRACT
In August 2002, Titan Video released Slammer, a gay pornographic video located in an unspecified American correctional facility where inmates and prison guards alike submit to the libidinous urges of the sinister, sexually aggressive prison warden played by the video’s star, a muscular and tattooed performer using the name Dred Scott. Advertised with promotional literature bearing the slogan, “Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the warden,” Slammer is the latest in a long line of gay pornographic videos that use the location of the prison as a venue in which homoerotic desires are played out.
