Whereas Mill could find no sense in which it is both possible and morally right to follow nature, Holmes Rolston, ^* while not disagreeing with Mill’s main contentions, finds senses of ‘following nature’ that Mill neglected. He questions Mill’s view of nature as hostile and his belief that nature is of no assistance to us in achieving a good life.
