ABSTRACT
The area with the biggest number of student workers is often the Access Services/Circulation Department. Libraries are always looking for helpful, smiling faces for desk duty. Training these smiling faces is important. At Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX, we realize the importance and found that cross training desk attendants to shelve and work several of the library’s public service stations, help them know more about the library, and give better service. It also benefits the library by making more students available to staff these different areas.
