ABSTRACT

Like many libraries, the Z. Smith Reynolds Library at Wake Forest University has been grappling with the need to integrate patron access to library held (both print and electronic) and remotely acquired (Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery) resources. Wake Forest is a medium sized liberal arts university, supporting 6,500 students via three libraries (Undergraduate/Graduate, Business/Law, and Medical). The three libraries share an integrated library system (Voyager), and two of the three use ILLiad as their interlibrary loan (ILL) system. In 2003 the Z. Smith Reynolds (ZSR) Library transitioned to ILLiad from another system and began looking at ways in which ILLiad could be integrated with other library systems. During this time, the library also transitioned towards more electronic resources and worked towards integrating ILL request forms into our OpenURL resolver application.
