ABSTRACT

People have to take care to be critically self-reflective as they move in the world, particularly if they intend their actions to have socially just and ecologically sound consequences. This introduction offers a summary of what's inside this book, the highlights and gaps, what was found interesting and what is still long to read about. Areas where the intersecting fields of bisexualities and spiritualities still have glaring present absences and absent presences. Stephen Lingwood and Martha Daniels' pieces about the difficulties of serving as out bi clergy, even in progressive denominations such as the Unitarians and the Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) are discussed. The authors of this book seek to investigate those dynamics and reconstruct ways of being spiritual and sexual that affirm indigenous ways of being in the world. The way people conceptualize sexuality and spirituality and look to the next generation to give voice to the present absences and absent presences is also discussed.
