ABSTRACT
This chapter summarizes the literature regarding immigrant children and families in the United States and the challenges they may experience that may make them vulnerable for contact with child welfare systems. The chapter includes a summary of the current state of knowledge regarding immigrant children and families’ involvement with child welfare systems and the need for culturally competent child welfare practice with this rapidly increasing population.
