ABSTRACT
This article aims to give a glimpse of what is involved in making changes from traditional constructs to new constructs in three fields: physics, medicine, and communication. It seemed reasonable to start with an understanding of what other disciplines and professions were doing in shifting their paradigms and the problems of abandoning the cozy comfort of familiar ways of thinking and doing things. Suggestions have been made for the environment and aging in terms of how we can proceed and welcome the promise of new and rewarding opportunities.
