ABSTRACT

What is right in Italy? Those who like to play on words have an easy answer: when it comes to the functioning of the political system, not much is right in Italy. When it comes to defining what a ‘political’ right is, with reference to ideology, positioning and policies, the question does not have an easy answer at all. Indeed, any answer will require an exploration of several different issues along several different paths. This paper is meant to be a kind of preliminary assessment of what we already know and to offer a series of suggestions of what we should be looking for.
