ABSTRACT

Tucked between South Africa and Mozambique, and usually “gowned” in green, Swaziland is one of the smallest countries in Africa (17,364 square kilometers), but it has great variation in landscape, geology, and climate. It also has great diversity of fauna and flora (846 species of vertebrates and approximately 3,500 species of flora). This diversity of flora and fauna and their gene pool and ecosystems are the natural wealth of Swaziland and provide the basis for economic development and well-being.
